Northern Irish Court Taking Tougher Line on Health and Safety Offences

UK Ruling: The Northern Irish Court of Appeal recently ordered an immediate custodial sentence for an employer found guilty of the manslaughter of their employee. The ruling shows that the court is now taking a more stringent approach on health and safety offences, in line with the approach taken in England, Wales and Scotland.
