Court Rules Law Firms Must Comply with Data Requests

Sector Regulations Ruling: The Court of Appeal has ruled that law firms must comply with data requests even if the purpose for seeking the data is “assisting in litigation”. The ruling overrules a High Court decision which found that a data request is rendered invalid if made for the “collateral purpose of assisting in litigation”.
