EU Legal Adviser Stipulates Criteria for Legitimate Data Retention Laws

EU Ruling: Telecoms companies can be compelled to store data pertaining to customer communications only if it is "strictly necessary in the fight against serious crime", according to the Advocate General for the European Court of Justice.
